VJ Mind

Your first session, without surprises.

What counselling is, what it is not, and exactly what happens the first time — so you can walk in knowing what to expect.

What counselling is

A structured conversation with a trained listener, to understand what you are going through and find ways to handle it. VJ Mind offers counselling, guidance and psychoeducation.

What it is not

It is not diagnosis, medication or an emergency service. If a clinical assessment would help you, you will be told so honestly and pointed to the right professional.

Before the session

Note down what brings you, what you would like to be different, and any questions you have. There is no right way to start — "I don't know where to begin" is a perfectly good first sentence.

During the first session

We introduce ourselves, go through how confidentiality works and its limits, talk about what brings you, and agree on whether and how to continue. You can pause, skip a question or stop at any time.

Confidentiality

What you share stays private. The limit is safety: if there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, steps will be taken to keep people safe, and you will be told.

How many sessions?

It varies. Some people come for one clarifying conversation; others prefer a series. You decide, and you can review it at any point.

If you are in crisis

Please do not wait for a session. Call Tele-MANAS on 14416 (free, 24×7) or 112 for emergencies.

Ready when you are.
