No. Most adult students arrive having never formally studied philosophy or psychology. That is normal and often easier — there is nothing to unlearn. School and college students are taught against their actual syllabus.

I have public positions — I am an atheist and I criticise every political party. In a class the job is to present each position at its strongest, including the ones I reject. Students are told where I stand precisely so they can discount for it. If I could not teach a theist argument fairly, I would have no business teaching philosophy of religion.

Only if I made it one, and I do not. Your faith is yours and the session is about you, not about what I think. If your religion is a source of strength, we work with it. If it is a source of conflict, we look at that honestly. Nobody gets argued out of anything in a counselling room.
Then we start somewhere else and circle towards it. Nobody is pushed. Plenty of first sessions are spent on ordinary things while the actual reason sits quietly in the corner until it is ready. That is a normal and perfectly acceptable use of the hour.
Yes, at any point, with no explanation required. There are no packages, no minimum commitment and no follow-up messages asking you to come back. If it is not helping, stopping is the correct decision.

I cleared Intermediate and chose not to continue to Final. The final stage asks for articleship and several years of undivided attention, and by then my work had moved elsewhere. The training itself is used every working day in the taxation practice — I just stopped chasing the title.
